VEDI WATER DAM CONSTRUCTION IS IN COMPLETION PHASE
With RA Government and “French Development Agency” jointly financial support, Vedi water dam construction, being implemented by “Armenian Territorial and Development Fund” (ATDF) is in completion phase. With an aim of getting acquainted with works done, French Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia, H.E. Mr. Olivier Decottignies, and head of regional office of “French Development Agency” Fanny Delpey accompanied by “Armenian Territorial and Development Fund” (ATDF) executive director Mr.Sargis Baghinyan made a visit to Vedi dam, attached structures and irrigation systems construction site. Having familiarized with the construction the ambassador expressed his expectation of seeing the water dam construction completion in near future. The ambassador pointed out construction speed and safety rules keeping by workers. In her turn, head of the regional office of the FDA Fanny Delpey mentioned that all the efforts must be joined to see outcomes of this program in near future, that is of significant importance for Armenian agriculture. “Armenian Territorial and Development Fund” (ATDF) executive director Mr.Sargis Baghinyan expressed his assurance on ,,if the program isn’t completed before time, it will end on time. “Sahakyanshin” company, implementing Vedi water dam construction is bending over backwards to meet its commitments on time” Sargis Baghinyan assured.
In upcoming period, the construction company will test water inlet valves in Islamic Republic of Iran, and after testing successful completion they will be installed on pipes.
,,Armenian Territorial and Development Fund” executive director drew the guests attention to “Karps” program, that is another water dam project, currently implemented by the foundation. Apart from two large scaled programs, the guests were also familiarized themselves with 106 school’s construction process being implemented by the Foundation with “Asian Development Bank” financial support in the scopes of “Seismic safety level enhancement” project. The list of kindergartens and school’s construction, to be implemented by ATDF is in clarification phase.
Sargis Baghinyan stated, that the Foundation is taking actions towards installing photovoltaic solar panels on community owned buildings roofs as well as multi-functional machinery allocation to the communities.
Apart from that, in the scopes of “Social Investment and Local Development” project “Armenian Territorial and Development Fund” is implementing projects aimed at primary issues solution, such as supplying schools and kindergartens with water supply and water removal, as well as irrigation pipelines laying and basic rehabilitation. Since 1996, with the financial support of World Bank Armenia, USA “International Development Agency”, SILD program has undertaken the rehabilitation of 1014 infrastructures in 398 settlements of Armenia, while since 2015, ATDF has implemented machinery allocation project in 70 consolidated communities of the country.
